marytwo proudly presents Billy Morgan’s first solo show titled In The Spirit Of The Place. A fitting title in many ways as this also marks the official launch of Season 1 at marytwo. Billy Morgan (*1994 in London) works across text, performance and video. This solo exhibition will for the first time bring together several new works in the same space, in the production of an immersive poetic realm. All works were produced during a two week stay at the marytwo residency in Beromünster, Lucerne. Billy Morgan’s work deals with the alienation of established concepts, such as the frameworks of language, society, the interpersonal and the family.
Billy has shown performances in spaces such as The Place, London (2022), Capitain Petzel, Berlin (2021) and Kem, Warsaw (2020). Their texts have been performed at KW Institute for Contempo- rary Art, Berlin (2021), Cell Project Space, London (2020) and U-jazdowski Centre for Contempo- rary Art, Warsaw (2019), among others. Billy currently studies at the SNDO, Amsterdam (2020–) and was a student of the Studio of Spatial Activities (ASP Warsaw, 2018-19).
